Ours Can

He’s a dork. He’s too academic. He looks like a dentist. Despite my vote in the opposite direction last November, I think K-Rudd is doing a great job of being Prime Minister.

For all you foreigners, I bet the leader of your country can’t do THIS (Americans: you needn’t bother trying to beat our leader):

Yeah I know. Two posts in one day and all that. But I just came across this and couldn’t resist sharing:

Woe Blog Woe

May 12, 2008 at 8:34 pm | In men, the dj | 1 Comment

Woe blog. It has been suffering lately.

I’ll save you the whole I’m so exhausted and busy with work speech. Maybe I just don’t notice the simple things anymore that make for great blogging. Or quirky at least. I’ve lost my quirk. My spunk.

I went crazy at M.A.C last week (with thanks to all the girlies who left make-up tips last week)… $180 got me a fantastic foundation, lip gloss, blush, eye shadow and some face creams. I’m one of those girls who goes to the counter, admits to knowing bugger all about makeup and lets the assistant make you over. I think they love the fact you know nothing - let’s them feel more creative or important. Or both.

I bought a new dress. And I got my hair dyed again. So I ought to be looking mighty damn fine.

Ian Thorpe was dining at the table next to us while I was out here on Friday night. The DJ was popular amongst my group by being the one to have the nerve to approach Ian for a photo. Do not ask why The DJ was there. Don’t have the energy to get into that story…

Anyway, since I’m so boring and all, I’ll leave you with this. Unless you were so bored that you didn’t even make it this far….

Fun With Security Words

May 10, 2008 at 9:50 pm | In blog | 3 Comments

While I was purchasing tickets online recently I discovered just how entertaining security words can be:

I also realised just how unrecognisable some of the supposed words are:

“What do you do for work?”

“You know those annoying words you have to type in when buying stuff over the net?”

“Yeah…”

“Well the guy that makes those up - I’m THAT guy”

End of conversation.

Not-So-Popular

May 7, 2008 at 9:07 pm | In me | 5 Comments

So that last post was popular.

I can’t help it if life has been a little less than ordinary of late.

What I’m loving:

  • Stockings. Winter is about to embark and I am loving shopping for stockings of all colours and designs to go with my dresses and skirts.

What I’m not-so-loving:

  • Paying $20 each for the said stockings.

What I’m loving:

  • Dreaming about a potential o/s trip later in the year.

What I’m not-so-loving:

  • Knowing that it’s going to be a small set back for getting my own place.

What I’m loving:

  • Newly dyed hair.

What I’m not-so-loving:

  • Being asked if I was Lebanese because apparently I “don’t look Australian”

What I’m loving:

  • Feeling valued and important at work.

What I’m not-so-loving:

  • Being exhausted from work and needing to sleep for a month.

What I’m loving:

  • Underbelly.

What I’m not-so-loving:

  • That tonight was the last episode.

What I’m loving:

  • That my ADSL throttle gets removed tomorrow.

What I’m not-so-loving:

  • That my ISP thinks I have used an entire 10GB and I haven’t even downloaded a single song or movie.

What I’m loving:

  • The release of Second Skin - Electro Funk Lovers remixes of Katie Noonan

What I’m not-so-loving:

  • That no-one else seems to share that love.

What I’m loving:

  • That Hump Day is almost over

What I’m not-so-loving:

  • That I still have a shitload of work to do by Friday.

And you? What are you loving? What are you not-so-loving?
